Statute of YPC Annual Award

PREAMBLE

This Statute regulates the procedure for conferring of Yerevan Press Club Annual Award (hereinafter referred to as YPC Award).

The YPC Award can be granted to: media, operating in Armenia; media staff (editors, managers, journalists, observers, cameramen, directors, etc.); creative groups, editorial staffs or individual programs in media; free-lance journalists, who present their journalistic works by different means (books, exhibitions, etc.); organizations and individuals, engaged in media research or theory; organizations and individuals, engaged in journalistic education; state, political and public figures, contributing to the development of media and openly and transparently cooperating with them.

A. NAME

Yerevan Press Club Annual Award.

B. NUMBER OF AWARDS

Not more than 5 YPC Awards shall annually be conferred.

C. NOMINATION PROCEDURE

The nomination for the YPC Award can be made by YPC members, journalists, public and other organizations.

Individuals or organizations who wish to make a nomination shall submit their proposals (bids) to YPC in writing. The proposal must contain the following information: who nominates, who is nominated, what work/activity for and what the nomination title should be. No restrictions are stipulated for the nomination choice, unless they exceed the scope of spheres mentioned in the Preamble.

Every individual/organization may nominate not more than two candidates for YPC Award.

The same candidate can be nominated by various individuals/organizations in different nominations and for different works.

The deadline for the nomination is June 15.

Nominations for YPC Award are made for the work/activities, implemented from the period of June 15 the previous year up to June 15 the current year.

D. PROCEDURE FOR THE DETERMINATION OF YPC AWARDEES

To determine YPC Awardees, no special group (jury) is created. The YPC Awardees are determined by YPC administrative body, the Board.

To justify their proposals the individuals/organizations that have made their nominations may be invited to the Board session.

The Board can only confer the YPC Award in the nominations and for the work/activity, specified in the proposals of nominating individuals/organizations.

The decisions of YPC Award conference are taken by a ballot (open or close), with a simple majority of Board member votes.

The Board also determines the individuals that will be granting the prizes during the YPC Award Ceremony.

Е. YPC AWARD CEREMONY

The YPC Award Ceremony is held on July 18 of the current year, on the date of YPC foundation. The Ceremony day may be re-scheduled by a Board decision.

F. YPC AWARD

YPC Award includes:

1. a diploma (certificate);

2. а prize with YPC logotype and inscription of “Yerevan Press Club Award  Year XXXX”;

3. а monetary prize, a valuable gift or other material incentive.
