On December 22 the RA Commercial Court accepted for consideration the suit of the founder of “A1+” TV company, “Meltex” LLC, versus the National Commission on Television and Radio with a demand to abolish the resolution of the National Commission to grant “Cinemax” LLC a broadcast license. As it has been reported, the previous similar suit was not accepted for proceeding (see details in YPC Weekly Newsletter, December 5-11, 2003). As before, the “A1+” founder challenges the voting results of October 13, according to which “Cinemax” was recognized the winner of the competition for using the 63rd UHF in Yerevan. “A1+” TV company, another bidder for the frequency, believes that the application of “Cinemax” (broadcasts the programs of “EuroNews” channel and of “ArmNews” TV company) contained untrue information (see details in YPC Weekly Newsletter, November 14-27, 2003).
The first session of the court on the suit of “Meltex” was appointed for January 9, 2004.
