THE SUIT VERSUS “ARARAT” NEWSPAPER LEFT UNCONSIDERED

On December 23 the court of primary jurisdiction of Ararat region of Masis city held another session on the suit of the resident of Khachpar village Marineh Gabrielian versus the Chief Editor of regional “Ararat” newspaper Karineh Ashughian. As it has been reported, the plaintiff demands compensation for material losses equal to 125,000 AMD (about 0) she suffered, according to her assertions, as a result of previous trials between the parties that took place in 2001-2002 (see details in YPC Weekly Newsletter, November 7-13, 2003). On the session of December 10 the attorney of the respondent filed a counter-claim to protect the honor, dignity and business reputation of “Ararat” Chief Editor that was dismissed by the court.

During the hearings of December 23 the representative of the plaintiff did not appear, prompting the court to leave the suit unconsidered. Now, according to the law, to resume the proceedings on the case the plaintiff must file an appropriate application.
