On December 17-19 in Gyumri a seminar “Press and Public Relations” was organized by the London-based Media Diversity Institute. The event was held under the project “Empowering Minorities and Developing Mainstream Media”, implemented by this organization in the three countries of South Caucasus with the support of European Commission. The partner on the project in Armenia is Yerevan Press Club.
At the seminar, in which journalists of national and local media took part, the representatives of 15 NGOs provided theoretical and practical assistance in organizing public and press relations. The knowledge received can be used by non-governmental organizations for increasing tolerance towards minority groups by media and PR-campaigns.
A similar seminar was held on December 13-15 in Tbilisi and is scheduled in Baku for early 2004.
