On February 6 the driver of gas office of Artashat (Ararat region) Grigor Ohanian came to the RA General Prosecutor’s Office and confessed he had injured Hayk Babukhanian. As it has already been reported, Hayk Babukhanian, the head of campaign staff of the RA presidency candidate Aram Karapetian, was attacked on February 4 during the meeting with voters in Artashat (see details in YPC Weekly Newsletter on February 1-7, 2003).
Grigor Ohanian received a preventive punishment of arrest, and on February 9 charges were introduced to him on Articles 133 (impeding the realization of the elective right, the implementation of authority of electoral commissions and individuals participating in elections) and 222 (infliction) of RA Criminal Code.
