On May 15 another satellite press conference between Yerevan and Baku was held. The conference was organized under the project of Yerevan and Baku Press Clubs "Possible Resolutions to the Karabagh Conflict: Expert Evaluations and Media Coverage", supported by OSI Network Media Program. Technical assistance in its conductance was provided by "Mir" Interstate TV and Radio Company. As it has been reported, the previous meeting of journalists and politicians of the two countries occurred in mid-April (see YPC Weekly Newsletter, April 12-18, 2003).
The guest of the sixth space bridge, in the Yerevan studio, was a well-known Armenian politician, the Chairman of the National Democratic Union and the leader of NDU faction in the Armenian Parliament Vazgen Manukian. Vazgen Manukian was running for RA presidency and currently he participates in the elections to the National Assembly occupying the third line in the list of "Justice" election bloc. The Azerbaijani journalists, present in Baku studio, were interested in the results of the past presidential elections, the position of Vazgen Manukian himself and "Justice" bloc on the resolution of Karabagh problem, its impact on regional integration and foreign investment, relations of Armenia and Azerbaijan with international structures, also the prospects of the two countries’ accession to the NATO and European Union, the attitude of the Armenian opposition to the possible – after the presidential elections – change of power in Azerbaijan, the relations between Armenia and Turkey.
