ALL THE FOUR REGIONAL FREQUENCIES HAVE OWNERS NOW

On October 27 the National Commission on Television and Radio announced the results of the broadcast licensing competitions of September 18 (see YPC Weekly Newsletter, September 12-18, 2003). The bids for the four regional frequencies were considered on October 23. The right to broadcast on 2nd VHF of Gyumri (Shirak region) was claimed by two TV companies – “Shant” that currently broadcasts on it and “Tsayg”. By the voting results, “Shant” won in the competition. "Tsayg" will now broadcast on the 28th UHF of Gyumri, being the only bidder for it. Another UHF – the 29th of Stepanavan (Lori region) was gained by its former “owner” – “Fortuna” TV, which again was the only bidder for the frequency. The 12th VHF of Ijevan (Tavush region) were claimed by “Shoghardzak” LLC and “Ijevan Studio”. The latter company won.
