On May 30 – June 2 the President of Yerevan Press Club Boris Navasardian, Chief
Editor of “Respublika Armenia” newspaper Vardan Aloyan and Chief Editor of “Aravot”
daily Aram Abrahamian took part in the 57th World Congress of Newspapers and
11th World Forum of Editors, organized by the World Association of Newspapers.
This year the biggest world press meeting was held in Istanbul.
Armenian journalists also had individual meetings with their colleagues from
Turkey, where the prospects for improving the relations between Armenia and
Turkey and the role of the media in this were discussed, as well as visited
the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople Mesrob Mutafian.
The trip was organized on the initiative of YPC and with the support of the
Center for Global Peace of the American University, Washington (DC).
