On May 28 a new channel “Yerkir-Media” appeared on the Armenian TV screens. As it has been reported, on December 29, 2003 by the voting results of the National Commission on Television and Radio the founder of the TV company, “Husaber” CJSC, was recognized to be the winner of the competition for broadcast licensing for the 56th UHF of Yerevan, another bidder for which was “A1+” TV company (see YPC Weekly Newsletter, January 8-16, 2004).
So far the programs of “Yerkir-Media” are aired only in the evenings, for four hours every day. According to the administration of the TV company, the duration of the airtime will be gradually increased and by the end of June it will be in the mode planned – 18-hour broadcasts.
