On December 27 at Naregatsi Art Institute the exhibition of photo journalist
German Avagian, dedicated to people with disabilities, was held. The event with
the slogan “Desire for Happiness” was organized by “Unison” NGO under the project
“Enhancing Public Awareness of the Rights of Disabled”, supported by US Department
of State Public Affairs Section. At the exposition also posters by the students
of Yerevan State Fine Arts Academy were presented (their authors received a
special prize from “168 Zham” newspaper), slides and video slots on the problems
of people with disabilities. “Unison” plans to disseminate the video material
on CDs to RA National Assembly Deputies, state and public organizations as an
illustration to the draft law “On Ensuring Access to Places of Public Importance
and Public Transportation for the Disabled and Other Motion-Impaired People”,
developed by the NGO.
