On December 3 in Yerevan the results of “Sunflower” competition were announced.
The competition was administered by “Huysi Kamurj” (“Bridge of Hope”) and “Araqelutiun
Arevelq” (“Mission East”) NGOs with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
of Denmark and the USAID. In the competition pieces on the problems of the disabled
people, published or aired on January 1 – November 20, 2005, were reviewed.
“For the best TV piece” prize was awarded to correspondent of “Kentron” TV
company Ivetta Tonoyan.
Encouraging prizes were granted to the correspondents of “168 Zham” newspaper
Narine Avetian (for active reporting on the subject), of “Shoghakat” TV company
Ruzanna Sahakian (for dedication to the subject) and of “Max Liberty” youth
program of Radio Liberty/Radio Free Europe Armenian Service Hasmik Smbatian.
A special prize was awarded to the documentary “The House of Children” of free-lance
journalist Yeranuhi Soghoyan.
