On June 27 on the evening air of the Second Armenian TV Channel the thirty-first
“Press Club” show was issued. The cycle is organized by Yerevan Press Club under
a homonymous project, supported by the OSI Network Media Program.
The representatives of the leading media and journalistic associations of Armenia
discussed the parliamentary elections in Mountainous Karabagh on June 19. By
the forecasts of the “Press Club” show participants, the priority events for
Armenian media this week will be the press-conferences of the Armenian delegation
members in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, related to the
summer session of PACE in Strasbourg on June 20-24; the post-election incident
in Stepanakert – the beatings of a candidate for a parliamentary seat from election
bloc “Dashnaktsutiun” party-“Sharzhum-88” Pavel Manukian; the protest action
in front of the RA Government again the obligatory receipt of social security
cards, organized by the Union of Christians against Numbering of People; the
resolution of the Government to build the new highway Armenia-Iran bypassing
the Shikahogh reserve. Of the international events, in the opinion of the program
participants, the Armenian media will focus on the results of presidential elections
in Iran and the upcoming session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Washington
on July 1-5.
