On March 9 “Haikakan Zhamanak” daily reported that previously, on March 8, it received the response of Yerevan Prosecutor’s Office to its petition of February 23. The petition challenged the resolution on discontinuing the investigation of the ignition of the car, owned by the daily and used by its Chief Editor. In the response of the Prosecutor’s Office the ruling of the investigator to discontinue the investigation of the case was recognized to be justified. As it has been reported, this ruling was made in early February (see YPC Weekly Newsletter, February 18-24, 2005), and the ignition of the car of “Haikakan Zhamanak” occurred on November 22, 2004. According to the forensic fire examination, the ignition resulted from a source of open fire.
