On December 21 in Vanadzor a round table “Freedom of Expression and Media Independence”
was held. The event was organized by the Committee to Protect Freedom of Expression
under a project “Advocacy through Empowering Journalistic Organizations and
Regional Media“, supported by Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation Armenia
and the Government of the Netherlands. The representatives of media and NGOs
of Lori region who took part in the round table discussed the issues of freedom
of expression and implicit censorship, the diversity in Armenian media in the
view of parliamentary elections, upcoming in 2007. On December 22 a talk show
on these subjects went on live air of “Lori” TV company.
