The “Face of the Country” program cycle continues on the evening air of “Yerkir-Media”
TV company. The cycle is produced under Yerevan Press Club project supported
by the Public Affairs Section of the US Department of State. As it has been
reported, the TV debate cycle between the representatives of parties/bloc, running
for seats at the RA National Assembly, was launched on April 11 and will be
aired by “Yerkir-Media” throughout the official promotion campaign (till May
9). The debates also involve 10 members from each party, asking questions to
their opponent, and the audience. The program is hosted by the Chief Editor
of “Aravot” daily Aram Abrahamian (see YPC Weekly Newsletter,
April 6-12, 2007).
On April 13 debates were held between “Orinats Yerkir” party, represented by
the Secretary of “Orinats Yerkir” parliamentary faction Heghine Bisharian, and
“Dashnaktsutiun” party, represented by RA NA deputy Alvard Petrosian.
On April 16 in the debates the member of the Political Board of “Prosperous
Armenia” party Arthur Tamazian and the Vice-Chairman of the Democratic Party
of Armenia Vanya Mkhitarian took part.
On April 18 the debate participants were the member of the Board of the Republican
Party of Armenia, the deputy of the RA NA Armen Ashotian and the member of the
Political Board of “Republic” party Gegham Harutiunian.
The next “Face of the Country” program will be aired on “Yerkir-Media” on Friday,
April 20, at 21.00.
