This week programs dealing with presidential elections in Armenia went on air
of five regional TV companies. This new YPC project, supported by the UNDP,
involves the following TV companies: “Tsayg” (Gyumri, Shirak region), STV1 (Sevan,
Gavar region), “Lori” (Vanadzor, Lori region), “Ankyun+3” (Alaverdi,
Lori region), “Sosi” (Kapan, Syunik region). Each of the TV channels listed
produces a talk show, broadcast also by all the others. All the programs have
the same subject: how adequately the problems of regions are raised in the beginning
of the election campaign and how they are reflected in the rhetoric of the election
process participants. The second subject of discussion centers on various aspects
of the process, too. Thus, the talk show on “Tsayg” focused on the importance
of the civil activeness of voters, on STV1 – the unacceptability of violation
of electoral legislation, in particular, voter bribing. The next talk show will
be produced by “Sosi” TV company.
