At a press-conference on March 15 in Yerevan Elizabeth Petrosian, the director
of “Litsa” LLC, the founder and the publisher of the Armenian “Forbes” business
magazine, announced that by a decision of the editorial board the magazine will
from now on be published under the title “Demker” (“Faces”). As reported, shortly
after the first “Forbes” issue was published (the presentation was held on December
15, 2006) the Armenian press wrote that the publishers of “Forbes” in Armenian
used the name illegally, having no arrangement with the American owners of the
brand. Besides, the Chief Editor of the magazine Petros Ghazarian resigned,
explaining this by an excessively politicized response of public to the magazine
(see YPC Weekly Newsletter, January
8-11, 2007).
As Elizabeth Petrosian announced at the meeting with journalists, the publication
will retain its political and economic direction, and she will be acting as
the Chief Editor temporarily.
