On July 10, at the Journalists Union of Armenia the meeting was held between Yerevan Press Club and "Yerevan City Council of Deputies" NGO, uniting the deputies of Yerevan Municipality in the years 1990-1995. The former deputies have lately organized a number of such meetings with NGOs to introduce their legal initiatives on the review of the status of the Capital, rehabilitation of the City Council consisting of elected deputies as well as elections of a mayor. Accordingly, the NGO suggests that changes be introduced in Article 108 (devoted to Yerevan) of the RA Constitution as well as a law be passed on the special status of Yerevan.
"Yerevan City Council of Deputies" decided to conduct a round-table meeting to discuss its initiatives with representatives of other NGOs, where journalists will be invited.
