On September 21 Republic of Armenia celebrated the 10th anniversary of its independence. On this day traditionally representatives of different professions and areas are officially honored. This time the awardees included nine our colleagues.
On September 20 the RA President Robert Kocharian signed a decree about awarding medals and orders on the occasion of the independence jubilee.
Movses Khorenatsi medal was awarded to representatives of Armenian and foreign media:
Valery Aydinyan – journalist and publicist (post mortem);
Hakob Avedikian – Chief Editor of "Azg" daily ;
Hovhannes BALAYAN – Chief Editor of "Kaj Nazar" satirical newspaper;
Tigran LILOYAN – ITAR-TASS Correspondent in Armenia;
Flora NAKHSHKARIAN – Chief Editor of "Golos Armenii" newspaper;
Aramais SAHAKIAN – Chief Editor of "Vozni" satirical newspaper;
Nara SHLEPCHIAN – Chairwoman of the Public Council on Public Relations of the Public Television and Radio Company of Armenia.
"For Merit of Arms" medal was awarded to journalists:
Hovhannes ARMENAKIAN – photo correspondent of "Hai Zinvor" newspaper, captain;
Tigran DEVRIKIAN – Editor of Information and Propaganda Department of the RA Defense Ministry, captain.
