PTRC COUNCIL ANNOUNCED A COMPETITION FOR THE POSITION OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC TELEVISION OF ARMENIA

On September 8 the Council of Public TV and Radio Company announced a competition for filling the vacant position of the Executive Director of the Public Television of Armenia. Citizens of Armenia with knowledge of Armenian, who hold a higher education and are “qualified specialists in the field of journalism, law and/or broadcast management, figures in science, culture and/or arts” are invited to participate in the competition. The applications will be submitted within September 9-18, 2010. The results of the competition will be summed up on September 25, 2010.

As it has been reported, since March 2010 the Acting Executive Director of the Public Television of Armenia is Armen Amirian, who also heads the Public Radio of Armenia. On September 7 at the joint press conference of Alexan Harutiunian, Chairman of PTRC Council, and Armen Amirian, the latter notified that will not take part in the competition. At the meeting with journalists it was also announced about some replacements in the staff. Particularly, Gagik Buniatian, who ran “Hay TV” company before, was appointed as General Producer of Public TV, while Hrach Keshishian, who earlier held this position, filled the post of the Chief Counselor of the Public TV and Radio, as well as of the Head of the Art Commission by the PTRC Council.
