“FACE OF THE COUNTRY”, PRE-ELECTION DEBATES ON THE AIR OF “YERKIR MEDIA”

On October 7 the first talk show of the “Yerkri Demky” (“Face of the Country”) program cycle went on the evening air of “Yerkir Media” TV company. The cycle is produced by Yerevan Press Club under “Alternative Resources in Media” project, supported by USAID. "The Face of the Country” is a weekly (on Fridays) cycle of pre-election debates between representatives of political parties of Armenia that envisage to run in the 2012 parliamentary elections. The discussions will in general focus on the organization process of the upcoming parliamentary elections, the implementation by the parties of the programs, presented in the 2007 elections, issues of the electoral legislation, and urgent political topics. On October 7 the guest of the program host, YPC President Boris Navasardian, were Ruben Hakobian, Vice-Chairman of “Heritage” party, and Hovhannes Sahakian, RA National Assembly MP from the Republican Party of Armenia faction.

The next program from the “Face of the Country” cycle will be aired on Friday, October 14 at 18.10 (rerun – on Monday, on October 17 at 16.15).
