On March 24 court of general jurisdiction of Arabkir and Kanaker Zeytun administrative districts of Yerevan held hearings on the suit of Aram Chatinian, Deputy Head of Arabkir Department of State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre, versus free-lance photo journalist Gagik Shamshian. The matter of the suit was the piece of Gagik Shamshian “High Officials Did Not Fulfill Hopes”, published in “Aravot” daily in August 24, 2011. The plaintiff demanded to bind the respondent with refuting the information discrediting his honor and dignity. The case was submitted to consideration on September 7, 2011.
At the March 24 session Aram Chatinian dropped all the claims towards Gagik Shamshian. The ruling on ending the litigation is to be rendered on March 29.
