On July 18 at “Hrazdan” hotel Yerevan Press Club marked the 17th anniversary since its foundation and announced the laureates of YPC Annual Award. The Award was established in 1998 and is conferred to best journalists and media organizations of Armenia.
The 2011-2012 YPC annual awardees are:
Karlen QALASHIAN – a special award for active civic position expressed through cooperation with media. The prize was conferred to Karlen Qalashian by Boris Navasardian, President of Yerevan Press Club
“ARMNEWS” TV company – for successful rebranding. The prize was handed by Nouneh Sarkissian, Managing Director of Internews Media Support NGO.
Radio “YEREVAN FM 102.0” – for effective combination of news/talk and music formats. The prize was handed by Arshavir Gazazian, Armenian Correspondent of “Deutsche Welle” radio station.
PanARMENIAN Photo Agency (http://www.panarmenian.net/arm/photo/) – for revealing new professional perspectives. The agency received the Award after Ruben Mangasarian, prominent photojournalist, one of the YPC founders, who untimely passed away. Tigran Mangasarian, the brother of Ruben Mangasarian and Director of “Patker” photo agency, conferred the Award.
