On September 30, the RA National Assembly adopted in second hearing and finally amendments to the RA Law “On Copyright and Related Rights”. As we have reported, the document was adopted in first hearing on September 10. The draft provides to supplement the current Copyright Law by Article 22.1, which stipulates conditions for full or partial reproduction of print/online media pieces by another print/online media (see details in YPC Weekly Newsletter, September 6-12, 2013).
Within the period of the first and second hearing, the draft was posted on Facebook for public discussion. In an interview to Aravot.am, one of the authors of the amendments, RA National Assembly Deputy Arpineh Hovhannisian assured that many of the suggestions, received in the course of discussion, were taken into account (“We Took Into Consideration All the Reasonable Suggestions”, Aravot.am, September 20, 2013).
