On November 7 the National Commission on Television and Radio summed up the results of the broadcast licensing competition on FM 106.0 MHz in Tsaghkahovit city (Aragatsotn region). As it has been reported, the competition was announced on June 10, 2005 (see YPC Weekly Newsletter, June 10-16, 2005). By the voting results, the right to broadcast on the frequency was given to the only applicant “ArRadioIntercontinental”.
At the same session the National Commission cautioned one Yerevan and three regional cable TV companies referring to their rebroadcasting of foreign TV channel programs without being duly licensed. Should the rebroadcasts continue, NCTR promised to impose stronger sanctions on the offenders.
