MEDIA TRAINING ON EUROPEAN NEIGHBORHOOD POLICY AND MILLENNIUM CHALLENGE ACCOUNT

On December 2-3 in Tsaghkadzor a training seminar “Armenian Media Coverage
of European Neighborhood Policy and Millennium Challenge Account” for media
representatives was held. The seminar was organized by Yerevan Press Club with
the assistance of Open Society Institute under “Supporting Freedom and Quality
of Journalism and Directing Media towards Urgent Issues” project. The training
was administered basing on the media monitoring of YPC, implemented on October
1-31, 2006.

The report of YPC President Boris Navasardian was dealing with the role of
media in covering international programs. The Board Chairman of Gyumri “Asparez”
Journalist’s Club, member of the Council of Beneficiaries of Millennium Challenge
Account in Armenia Levon Barseghian told about the Account implementation process.
The Action Plan of European Neighborhood Policy was presented by Karen Bekarian,
the head of “European Integration” NGO. The Editor of YPC Weekly Newsletter
Elina Poghosbekian presented the findings of the media monitoring of ENP and
MCA coverage (the research itself can be viewed at YPC web-site www.ypc.am in
“Studies” section).
