On March 15 in Vanadzor a round table “Freedom of Expression in Armenia and
Parliamentary Elections” was held. The event was organized by the Committee
to Protect Freedom of Expression under “Advocacy through Empowering Journalistic
Associations and Regional Media” project, supported by the OSI Assistance Foundation-Armenia
and the Government of the Netherlands. The participants of the round table –
representatives of media, NGOs of Lori region – discussed the findings of monitoring
of 7 TV channels, administered by Yerevan Press Club ahead of the official promotion
campaign for elections to the RA National Assembly, manifestations of hidden
censorship in pre-election period. On March 16 on the live air of “MIG” TV company
a talk show on the same subjects was held.
