On December 10 the USA Embassy in Yerevan announced the winner of the annual
Freedom Defender Award of the US State Department. The Award is dedicated to
the International Day of Human Rights. In 2009 the Armenian Freedom Defender
Award was granted to Edik Baghdasarian, Head of “Investigative Journalists”
NGO and Chief Editor of “Hetq” newspaper.
