NA/NE ANNUAL MEDIA COMPETITION ANNOUNCED

On September 23 the British Council, the British Embassy Yerevan, the OSCE Office in Yerevan and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) announced the Na/Ne annual media competition.

Journalists representing printed, online media, TV and radio companies of Armenia as well as independent journalists are eligible to submit their publications to take part in the competition. The published and broadcast publications and their authors may also be nominated by NGOs and individuals.

Materials must have been published or broadcast within the period from January to December 2010 and covered the activities and achievements, problems and challenges of women in political, economic and social spheres from the gender equality perspective. Publications may be presented in any of the journalistic genres.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

1. TV programme

2. Printed article

3. Radio programme

4. Online or blog article

5. Photo or photo story

6. Social or commercial advertisement raising issues of a woman or gender equality.

Applications must be submitted until December 31, 2010. The results of the competition will be finalised by the end of January and presented during Na/Ne award ceremony (for detailed information visit http://www.britishcouncil.am).

The applications must be submitted in hard copy to the British Council office: Hripsime Manukyan, 24 Baghramyan Avenue, or sent via email to [email protected] . In case of electronic submissions scanned versions of the publications are required.
