“FACE OF THE COUNTRY” – NEW CYCLE OF PRE-ELECTION DEBATES STARTS WITH “DASHNAKTSUTIUN” AND RPA

On February 16 “Yerkri Demky” (“Face of the Country”) cycle of pre-election debates was resumed on the evening air of “Yerkir Media” TV company. The cycle is produced by Yerevan Press Club under “Alternative Resources in Media” project, supported by USAID. The political parties/blocs of Armenia that envisage running in the 2012 parliamentary elections take part in the weekly Thursday discussions.

On February 16 the guest of the program host, YPC President Boris Navasardian, were Artashes Shahbazian, RA National Assembly MP from ARF “Dashnaktsutiun” faction, and Hovhannes Sahakian, RA National Assembly MP from the Republican Party of Armenia. The debates focused on the perspectives of forming a new ruling coalition, advantages of proportional and majoritarian voting systems, and ways for solving social issues in Armenia.

The next “Face of the Country” will be aired on “Yerkir Media” on Thursday, February 23   at 18.15 (rerun – on Monday, February 27 at 16.15).
