Armenia in the Integration Processes: the Role of the Civil Society – November 14-15, 2014, Aghveran, Armenia, seminar organized by Yerevan Press Club with the support of Friedrich Ebert Foundation. The participants (40 in number) were representatives of state structures, NGOs-members of the Armenian National Platform of Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum. Main issues discussed: possible formats for further EU-Armenia mutual relations; agreement on membership in the Eurasian Economic Union: Armenia’s expectations; presentation of the opinion poll entitled “To the North or to the West?”; presentation of the program of cross-border cooperation of EU Eastern Partnership; crisis of EU Eastern policy as a consequence of EU withdrawal from its declared standards; prospects of the Civil Society Forum and the EU Eastern Partnership.

The participants (41 in number) were representatives from expert community, NGOs and media of Armenia. Main issues discussed: prospects for the EU-Armenia partnership amid the geopolitical developments; Armenia’s possible accession into the Eurasian Economic Union: promised vs. real prospects; opposition-government-society: where do the interests meet and where do they diverge; constitutional amendments: for whom and for what; Karabagh conflict resolution: challenges and possible solutions; political autumn in the media: information or propaganda.

Armenia in between European and Eurasian Unions: Assessing New Opportunities and Challenges – July 4-6, 2014, Aghveran, Armenia, seminar organized by Yerevan Press Club with the support of Friedrich Ebert Foundation. The participants (32 in number) were representatives of expert community, NGOs and media of Armenia, members of the Armenian National Platform of Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum. Main issues discussed: integration of Armenia into the Eurasian Economic Union: expectations and challenges; interim results and prospects of the Eastern Partnership in the context of regional development and security; activities of the CSF Armenian National Platform amid the upcoming EaP CSF 6th Forum in Tbilisi; cultural ambiguity: Russia or Europe; non-formal civic initiatives as a factor of Armenian domestic and foreign policy making; settlement of Mountainous Karabagh conflict in the frameworks of European and Eurasian Unions.

The participants (35 in number) were representatives of political parties, civil society organizations, media and expert community of Armenia.

Eastern Partnership Media Freedom Landscape 2013 – May 8, 2014, Yerevan, round table organized by Yerevan Press Club. The participants (22 in number) were representatives of international organizations, NGOs and media of Armenia. Main issues discussed: presentation of the book “Eastern Partnership Media Freedom Landscape 2013”, published in the framework of the “ENP East Media Freedom Watch” project (supported by the European Union and implemented by Yerevan Press Club in cooperation with Internews Ukraine and other partner NGOs from the six Eastern Partnership countries). The book is a collection of analytical reviews on freedom of expression and media in 2013 in each of the six countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
