COURT OF CASSATION PASSED A DECISION IN FAVOR OF

On January 17 the Chamber of Civil and Commercial Cases of the RA Court of Cassation declined the challenge of the National Commission on Television and Radio. Thus, the supreme judicial authority of the country left unchanged the decision of the RA Commercial Court of December 2, 2002, which secured the suit of "Noyan Tapan" LLC versus the National Commission. As it has been reported, the court obliged the latter to accept the bid of "Noyan Tapan" for the broadcast licensing competition (see YPC Weekly Newsletter, November 30 – December 6, 2002). This time the bid must specify the frequency claimed by "Noyan Tapan".

On January 20 "Noyan Tapan" submitted to the National Commission a bid to participate in the competition for the 58th UHF of Yerevan on which CNN is currently rebroadcast.
