Since May 15 the air of "AR" TV company resumed. The broadcasts of the channel were suspended over a month ago due to its restructuring. As it has been reported, last year the control stock of "AR" (58%) was purchased by a well-known Armenian businessman, the President of "Grand Holding" company Hrant Vardanian, who also owns another Armenian channel, "Hayrenik TV" (see YPC Weekly Newsletter, December 14-20, 2002). Hrant Vardanian became the President of "AR", and its former head Meruzhan Ter-Ghulanian currently hold the position of creative director (he owns 10% of the stock, the rest belonging to two individuals). At the presentation held on May 14, the President of the TV company told about the radical transformations, noting that only the name and several nice traditions remain from the channel itself. According to "AR" management, the volume of daily broadcasts will make 16-19 hours, and the newscasts will initially be aired twice a day.
