TRILATERAL MEETING OF JOURNALISTS AND LAWYERS

On February 24-26 in Gudauri, Georgia, a trilateral meeting of journalists
and lawyers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia was held under a project “Improvement
of media legislation in the countries of South Caucasus”. The regional project
is implemented by Armenian Committee to Protect Freedom of Expression, Baku
Press Club and Association of Young Lawyers of Georgia with the support of Eurasia
Foundation South Caucasus Synergy Program.

The meeting participants presented and discussed reports on the legal regulation
of media and the initiatives of bringing the legal frameworks in the three countries
of the region in compliance with European standards, as well as on violations
of the rights of journalists and media in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia after
the accession of these states to the Council of Europe.
