On May 30 on evening air of the Second Armenian TV Channel twenty-seventh “Press
Club” show was issued. The cycle is organized by Yerevan Press Club under a
homonymous project, supported by the OSI Network Media Program.
The discussion subject of the representatives of leading media and journalistic
associations of Armenia were the festive events on the First Republic Day, May
28. Also, the issue of what Armenian people expected and gained after the collapse
of the Soviet Union and since the independence was touched. By the forecast
of “Press Club” participants the main subjects for the week will be the visits
to Armenia of the co-chairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group on Karabagh resolution
and the representatives of Venice Commission. In the opinion of the program
participants, the Armenian media will also focus on the rights of children in
the context of International Children Protection Day on June 1; the wood cuts
in the Shikahogh Reserve (Syunik region) for the construction of the new Armenia-Iran
highway; the election campaign for the Parliament of Mountainous Karabagh.
