SLOVENIAN JOURNALISTS VISITED ARMENIA

On October 26-29 a group of journalists from Slovenia visited Armenia to study
the situation of Armenian media. The group was represented by Marko Prpic (Project
Manager of public Radiotelevision of Slovenia), Gojko Bervar (Chief Editor of
Radio Slovenia) and Neva Nahtigal (free-lance journalist). The study visit was
organized by Yerevan Press Club and Ljubljana Peace Institute (Institute of
Contemporary Social and Political Studies) under “Media Self-Regulation: International
Experience and Prospects in Armenia” project, funded by East-East Program of
Open Society Institute.

The self-regulation prospects and the overall situation of Armenian media were
discussed at meetings with the representative of initiative group on re-establishing
the Armenian Media Association, at Internews Armenia NGO, editorial office of
“Aravot” daily, National Commission on Television and Radio, and Public TV and
Radio Company of Armenia.
