On June 16 at Hotel Yerevan a presentation of the anti-smoking campaign, implemented
by four TV companies of Lori, Syunik and Armavir regions. For two weeks in May-June
every day “Lori” (Vanadzor), “Fortuna” (Stepanavan), “Hustup” (Kapan) and “Alt
TV” (Armavir) TV channels aired reports, interviews, talk shows, public service
announcements on the harm of smoking. The action was held under “Anti-Smoking
Media Campaign in Regions” project, implemented by the Center for Health Services
Research and Development of American University of Armenia in partnership with
Internews Armenia NGO. Financial assistance to the project was provided by American
Cancer Society, Cancer Research UK, International Union of Global Cancer Control
and ECA/IREX.
