PRESIDENT AWARDED JOURNALISTS ON THE 15TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE INDEPENDENCE OF ARMENIA

On September 14 by decrees of the RA President Robert Kocharian on the occasion
of the 15th anniversary of Armenian independence (celebrated on September 21)
and for the journalistic work of many years six media representatives received
the title of “RA Journalist Emeritus”, five journalists were decorated with
“Movses Khorenatsi” medal.

The title of “RA Journalist Emeritus” was conferred on: Hasan Tamoyan, the
head of the Ezidi Program Department at Public Radio of Armenia; Gagik Mkrtchian,
the Chief Editor of “Hayots Ashkhar” daily; Martin Shakhbazian, the Photographer
of the RA President; Kyaram Choloyan, the head of Kurd Programs Department at
Public Radio of Armenia; Vanik Santrian, the Correspondent of “Armenpress” news
agency; Tigran Farmanian, the Chief Editor of “Hayastani Hanrapetutiun” daily.

“Movses Khorenatsi” medal was awarded to: Arthur Grigorian, the Director of
“Haylur” news service of the Public Television of Armenia; Ara Tadevosian, the
Director of “Mediamax” news agency; Naira Manucharova, the Deputy Chief Editor
of “Novoye Vremya” newspaper; Marina Mkrtchian, the Political Observer of “Golos
Armenii” newspaper; Karineh Sargsian, the Chief Editor of the Second Armenian
TV Channel.

The other decree of the head of state on September 14 awarded “Movses Khorenatsi”
medal to the first Chairman of the Council of Public TV and Radio Company Tigran
Naghdalian posthumously.

On the jubilee occasion the staff of “Golos Armenii” newspaper received a diploma
of gratitude of the RA President – for the fruitful work of many years and significant
contribution to the coverage of Armenian Genocide issue.
