On February 13-14 at Congress Hotel in Yerevan a round table “Fairness, Balance
and Impartiality in the Coverage of Elections” was held. The event was organized
by “Internews” Media Support NGO and the Media Division of the Directorate General
of Human Rights of the Council of Europe with participation of Yerevan Press
Club. The discussion subject for representatives of media, journalistic associations
of Armenia and the Council of Europe was the parliamentary elections, upcoming
in May, in the context of the role, the tasks, the professional conduct of media
while covering them, as well as the examples of media coverage of the previous
election campaigns for the RA National Assembly and media activities in the
period of elections in other Council of Europe member countries.
