YPC INITIATIVE SUPPORTED BY 17 MEDIA, 8 NGOs AND 3 JOURNALISTS

The appeal of Yerevan Press Club to media community of Armenia to jointly develop
the main norms of professional ethics and to follow them in their day-to-day
work (released on January 9) was supported by 17 media, 8 journalistic NGOs
and 3 journalists (see details in YPC Weekly Newsletter, January
8-11, 2007
and January 12-18,
2007
).

Thus, the YPC initiative was joined by: 7 TV companies – “Yerkir-Media”, Second
Armenian TV Channel, “Sosi”, “Lori”, “Tsayg”, “Gala”, “MIG”; Radio “HAY”;
8 newspapers – “Aravot”, “168 Zham”, “Azg”, “Respublika Armenia”, “Delovoy Express”,
“Kumairi”, Lragir.am online publication, “Media Style” LLC (publishes “90 minutes”
newspaper); “Arminfo” news agency. Readiness to assist the initiative was stated
by Internews Armenia, “Asparez” Journalist’s Club of Gyumri, Journalists Union
of Armenia, Committee to Protect Freedom of Expression, Media Diversity Institute,
Vanadzor and Goris Press Clubs, “TEAM” Research Center and, individually, the
political observer of “Radiolur” newscast of Public Radio of Armenia Tatul Hakobian,
the correspondent of ITAR-TASS in Armenia Tigran Liloyan, the correspondent
of “Interfax” news agency in Armenia Arman Tarjimanian.
