WILL ARMENIAN “FORBES” BE PUBLISHED? FOUNDERS PROMISED TO CLARIFY THE SITUATION

Recently Armenian press carried reports that the publishers of “Forbes” business
magazine in Armenian language had used the title illegally, having no previous
agreement with the American owners of the brand. As it has been reported, the
presentation of the first “Forbes” issue in Armenian was held on December 15,
2006 in Yerevan (see YPC Weekly Newsletter, December
15-21, 2006
).

As YPC was informed by Elizabeth Petrosian, the Director of “Litsa” LLC, the
founder and publisher of the Armenian “Forbes”, currently negotiations are held
with the American party on a number of issues, related to the publication of
“Forbes” in Armenia, and soon a press-conference will be held to clarify the
situation and dismiss rumors.

Meanwhile, in late December 2006 the Chief Editor of Armenian “Forbes” Petros
Ghazarian resigned. He explained the resignation by excessively politicized
response to the magazine.
