On May 10 in Gyumri a round table was held titled “Political Plurality in Media
during Election Campaign”. The event was organized by the Committee to Protect
Freedom of Expression under “Advocacy through Strengthening Journalistic Organizations
and Regional Media”, supported by the Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation-Armenia
and the Netherlands Government. The representatives of media, public organizations
of Shirak region discussed the interim findings of the monitoring of the coverage
of the official promotion for the parliamentary elections by national and regional
media of Armenia, the role of media in ensuring political plurality. On the
same day, May 10, on live air of “GALA” TV company of Gyumri a talk show on
the same issues was held. The debate was further continued in the discussion
program of the TV company, “Face to Face”.
