On September 30 at the Congress Hotel in Yerevan the seminar “Digital Switchover: Challenges, Opportunities and International Experience” was held. The event was organized by OSCE Office in Yerevan and was attended by representatives of media, NGOs, including journalistic organizations of Armenia. The opening address was made by the Ambassador Sergey Kapinos, Head of OSCE Office in Yerevan. The report of Grigor Amalian, Chairman of the National Commission on Television and Radio, regarded the process of digitalization and regulatory issues in Armenia. Andris Mellakauls, Vice-Chair of Council of Europe Steering Committee on the Media and New Communications Services, introduced the seminar participants to the Latvian experience of switching to digital broadcasting. Boris Navasardian, President of Yerevan Press Club, presented the legislative and policy issues of the digitalization process in Armenia.
