ON MAY 3 IN 10 CIS COUNTRIES THE FIRST NIGHT OF INTERNEWS FILM TOOK PLACE

On May 3, the World Press Freedom Day, on most Armenian TV channels the first night of TV film “Freedom of Speech” produced by Internews took place. In this way, the Armenian TV companies supported the action of Internews international organization on the Press Freedom Day – the professional holiday of journalists, celebrated since 1994 by the decision of the UN General Assembly. The journalists of Russia, the USA, Ukraine, Armenia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan participated in the creation of this 14-minute film. The authors deliberately refrained from comments, giving floor to people from the street in different countries. The heroes of the film ponder on what freedom of speech means to them. The film, translated in different languages, was demonstrated on May 3 in 10 CIS countries by a few hundreds of TV companies. Internews expressed its gratitude to those who took part in the action.
