On October 22, the RA President Robert Kocharian ratified the RA Law “On Introducing Amendments into the RA Law ‘On Press and Other Media Outlets’“, passed by the Parliament on September 26, 2001. The amendment refers to Article 22 of the acting (since 1991) media law. It gives a definition of “official announcement (information)” and specifies whose exactly information must be operatively published by the media, founded by the state or local administration bodies, including the Public Television and Radio Company of Armenia. These are the announcements made by the President of the country, the National Assembly and its Speaker, the Government and the Prime Minister or individuals authorized by them.
