On December 13 at the National Assembly of Armenia hearings of draft law "On Mass Communication" were held. The draft was submitted to the Parliament in mid-November. The hearings organized upon the initiative of two NA Standing Committees (Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Issues, and Committee on State and Legal Issues) gave floor to representatives of Armenian media and journalistic associations along with the deputies and the authors of the draft (RA Ministry of Justice). Yerevan Press Club again introduced its proposals on both the contents of the draft (see details in YPC Weekly Newsletter, November 9-15, 2002), and on the preferability of its consideration by the NA after the parliamentary elections in May 2003.
