On July 9 in Yerevan the award ceremony of the competition "Together With the World – With Our Identity: Armenia is the Homeland of All Armenians" was held. The competition was organized by the Journalists Union of Armenia, the World Armenian Congress and the Armenians’ Union in Russia.
In "Periodicals" nomination the cycles of thematic pieces were honored: the first prize was awarded to Sergey Vardanian, Chief Editor of "Dzayn Amshenakani" newspaper; the second prize received Tigran Nikoghosian, Chief Editor of "Hayastan" newspaper; the third – "Syunyants Yerkir" newspaper.
In "TV Programs" nomination the first prize was granted to the "Perspective" program cycle of "Shant" TV company. The second award went to "MIG" TV company of Lori for the cycle about the Armenian community in Seattle, USA.
In "Radio Programs" nomination the first prize was awarded to Irina Barseghian, author of the cycle "The Witness of Time" of Public Radio of Armenia.
In the "Media of Diaspora" nomination the first prize received Jirayr Danielian, Lebanon, for the articles on strengthening the ties between Armenia and the Diaspora, published in "Kamar" magazine. The second prize was granted to Yevgineh Gharibian, USA, for the cycle of radio programs "Armenia is the Homeland of All Armenians" of the independent Armenian radio of Boston.
A special award was conferred to "Azg" daily – for covering the 10th anniversary of Armenians’ Union in Russia.
