On March 4 at the Yerevan “Moscow” cinema house the exhibition of winning photos of World Press Photo-2003 opened. In 2003 3,913 press photographers from 118 countries of the world took part in this annual international competition, presenting their pictures of 2002. Prizes in 9 nominations were awarded to 55 photographers. The First Prize was gained by a black and white picture of American photo journalist of Armenian origin Eric Grigorian (“Polaris Images”).
The Yerevan exposition of World Press Photo winners is organized by the Caucasus Media Institute and will last till March 28.
