NATIONAL INTERPRETATION OF JOURNALISTIC ETHICS DISCUSSED ON “PRESS CLUB”

On December 2 on the air of “Yerkir Media” TV company the year’s final talk-show of “Press Club” cycle, dealing with journalism ethics, was broadcast. The “Press Club” cycle was produced by Yerevan Press Club in frames of the “Promoting Freedom, Professionalism and Pluralism of the Media in the South Caucasus and Moldova” programme, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe.

The talk-show participants reviewed the national interpretation of journalistic ethics, particularly, in Armenia and other European countries. The discussants, Nouneh Sarkissian, Executive Director of Internews Media Support public organization, and Hovhannes Hovhannisian, member of the Public Council at RA President, reflected upon the issue. The experts of the program were Gegham Manukian, Director of the News and Current Affairs Programs of “Yerkir Media” TV, lawyer Ara Ghazarian, member of the Council on Information Disputes, Ruben Margarian, political observer of “Golos Armenii” newspaper, and CoE expert, former BBC Radio correspondent Jonathan Stoneman. The discourse was led by Aram Abrahamian, Chief Editor of “Aravot” daily.
