NCTR PRESENTS MONITORING RESULTS FOR FIRST WEEK OF PRE-ELECTION PROMOTION

On January 31, the National Commission on Television and Radio released the interim findings of the monitoring on ensuring of equal conditions for candidates to RA President by the Armenian TV and radio companies during the official electoral campaign. As we have reported, the NCTR conducts the monitoring in compliance with the RA Electoral Code (see details in YPC Weekly Newsletter, January 11-17, 2013).

The report of the regulatory body provides the quantitative data for the first week of pre-election promotion (January 21-27, 2013): airtime volume, allocated to the candidates on TV and radio programs, and the paid/free airtime provided to the candidates for pre-election promotion. The NCTR report also notes that within the period studied the TV or radio companies have not violated the procedure of pre-election promotion, as defined in the Electoral Code.

The NCTR report for January 21-27, 2013 (in Armenian) is available at http://www.tvradio.am/?page_id=3743.
